Threadlifts, or NovaThreads, are a new type of non-invasive facelift procedure. Threadlifts require no cuts or incisions, instead relying on hypodermic needles to create lift and reposition the skin. They are quick, efficient, and less costly than traditional facelift procedures.
How it Works
Threadlifts use needles that are pre-loaded with PDO absorbable sutures. These are the same sutures that are used in open-heart surgeries. They are safe and dissolve slowly over time. The needles are used to deposit and position the threads in the tissue at the subdermal skin level. Threads are positioned parallel to the surface of the skin where they are anchored to lift and support sagging tissues. Once positioned, the needle is removed and the suture stays in place.
Threadlifts are performed in an outpatient setting and require no anesthesia. They have earned the nickname “lunchtime facelift” because the entire procedure can be completed in about an hour.
Ideal for the Neck and Jaw
Threadlifts can be used anywhere but they work best where tissues tend to sag – under the eyes, the jowls, and the neck, for example. The neck and jaw is a particularly hard area to treat using other methods like Botox® or fillers, making Threadlifts are good choice for these areas. The sutures act as support for subdermal skin tissues, helping to lift sagging or loose skin without cuts and scarring.
Are You a Candidate for a Threadlift?
Threadlift candidates show minor signs of aging and just want a small lift. Most often, patients notice some sagging in the cheeks, jaw, and neck and want to do a little something to tighten it up. Threadlifts can be combined with other procedures at EnLighten Skin & Body Medspa, like Botox® in the forehead and fillers in the cheek area.
